Previous events

  1. The 1st edition of the Nigerian Union of Radio Science- Radio Science (Now known as the International Union of Radio Science-Nigeria (URSI-NG)) took place at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria between 3rd and 5th December, 2008 with about 40 participants. The theme was - Radio Science for National Development and Security. There was no conference proceeding, only book of abstracts was published
  2. The 2nd edition took place at the Redeemer’s University, Ogun State, Nigeria between 2nd and 5th Dec. 2009 with about 85 participants. The theme of the conference was Satellite Technology and its Applications. There was a conference proceeding in print, one month after the conference based on peer reviewed.
  3. The 3rd edition took place at the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria between 1st and 4th Dec. 2010 with about 96 participants. The theme of the conference was Radio Science and Socio Economic Development in an Emerging Democracy. There was a conference proceeding in print/CD, one month after the conference based on peer reviewed.
  4. The 4th edition took place at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka between November 23rd and 25th, 2011 with about 72 participants. There was no conference proceeding, only book of abstracts was published
  5. The 5th edition took place at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria, between 28th and 1st December, 2012 with about 95 participants. The theme of the conference was Radio Science and National security: Issues and Solutions. There was a conference proceeding in print, two (2) months after the conference based peer reviewed.
  6. The 6th edition took place at the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria, between 2nd and 4th December 2015 with about 88 participants. The theme of the conference was: Space Weather, Communication Systems and National security. There was a conference proceeding in print, two (2) months after the conference based on peer reviewed.
  7. The 7th edition of the general conference was hosted virtually (Online conference) at the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria with the theme-The Future of Radio Communication: Prospects and Challenges. The conference took place between 22 and 24 June 2021with about 80 participants. It was fully indexed in Scopus proceedings by the IOP Journal series (Read here)
